Yesterday we finally met up for the long overdue face-to-face planning meeting. Since Sofia spends most of her time in Oslo, although she refuses to acknowledge that she lives there, we had to find a time and place we could agree on. We met earlier today on top of the world, or at least on the fifth floor at Kulturhuset, Stockholm.
After grabbing various things to eat, one of the dishes fittingly enough being Chicken Curry Madras (Chennai?), we got right down to business. The first thing we had to do was make sure that the older parts of our team actually gets all the shots we need as well as our visas in order. A tall task indeed, but plans were made and dates were put into various calendars. We also agreed on a preliminary route which would take us from Kochi to Gangtok via Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Varanasi, various parts of Nepal and finally Darjeeling. Also, we realized that we need to book some sort of flights from Mumbai to Kochi, as well as a hotel for the nights leading up to the actual start. However, at this point we were proud of the day’s accomplishments and decided to call it quits before we got in way over our head. Hotels and flights will have to be the topic for another day.
Now it feels like we’re actually going. Hopefully, it will continue to feel more like a fun idea than an idiotic one. Although, it is starting to become a closer contest than we would like…
